As I exited the store, I presented her with the warm drink. And I said, “Here, I thought you might need this. Maybe it will make you a little bit comfortable.” She was surprised to see the drink. She started crying and said, “Thank you so much. It was the best gift I got before Christmas.” Then she hugged me. Her reaction told me I did the right thing. And she taught me that sometimes small kindness can make a big difference to a person.
